A step-by-step guide to publishing a single CJ product to your eBay store, straight from the product detail page — from picking the product to the “Listed Successfully” confirmation.

Entry: Product Detail Page Where: Manual Listing editor 📷 Real screenshots (test environment)
How to read this guide:
1 a numbered step matching the number on the screenshot E1 an exception that interrupts listing (see “Exceptions” below) B1 an optional path / alternative (see “Branches” below)
Step 1

Open the product and click “List”

On the detail page of the product you want to sell, use the action bar at the bottom to start listing it to your eBay store.

  1. Check you have the right product. Confirm the product name, main image and SKU are the item you mean to sell before you list it.
  2. Click “List”. This opens the listing editor where you fill in the eBay details. The nearby “Connect” button does something different — it links to an item you already have on eBay (see branch B1).
⚠ Before a product can be listed
  • Your eBay store must be connected and authorized. If it isn’t, or the authorization has expired, listing is blocked and you’ll be asked to re-authorize — see E2.
  • A product can be listed to the same store only once. If you already listed it, you’ll be told it exists — see E1.

Step 2

Fill in the eBay listing information

The editor opens on the Products tab. Here you choose which store and eBay marketplace the item goes to, its category, title, and how buyers pay and receive it.

  1. Store Selection — pick the eBay store to publish to. The figures beside it (“Items Left to List”, “Amount Limit”) show how much you’re still allowed to list on eBay, and Sync refreshes them. These numbers are informational and don’t block a normal listing.
  2. Listing Site — the eBay marketplace/country your item will appear on (US, UK, Germany, …). This decides which eBay site’s buyers can see it.
  3. Select Category — the eBay category your item is filed under. CJ pre-fills a best guess; if it doesn’t fit your product, click Reselect and choose a more accurate one.
  4. Title — the product name buyers see. eBay titles are limited to 80 characters; anything longer is shortened automatically.
  5. Payment method — how buyers pay you. Managed Payments (Payoneer) is recommended; picking an option eBay no longer supports can make the listing fail.
  6. Shipping Methods on eBay — the delivery option shown to buyers. Required — you must choose one or the listing can’t be submitted.

Further down the tab, Seller Shipping Profile, Return Profile, Payment Profile and Tags are optional business-policy shortcuts — you can leave them blank.

⚠ What must be filled here
  • Store, Title and a Shipping Method are required — leaving any of them blank stops the listing.
  • The category is sent to eBay as chosen. If it’s wrong, or missing details eBay requires for that category, eBay can reject the listing at the final step (the error message starts with “Create platform product failed”). If that happens, use Reselect to pick a better category and try again.

Step 3

Set your price and listing quantity

On the Variant Pricing tab you set the default shipping used for cost estimates, then the selling price and how many units to list.

  1. Default shipping methodShipping From + Ship My Order(s) Most to + Shipping Method together decide the estimated delivery time, shipping cost and whether tracking is available, shown just below. This shipping cost is what your profit is calculated against.
  2. Recommended Listing Price — click to auto-fill a suggested selling price for every variant (based on the reference price and costs). You can still change it afterwards.
  3. Your Price — the actual price buyers pay, for each variant. Must be greater than 0, or the listing can’t be submitted.
  4. Listing Quantity — how many units you want to offer for sale. You type this in yourself, based on how much stock is actually available on CJ.
⚠ Price & quantity rules
  • Every variant must have a price, and it must be greater than 0.
  • At least one variant must be in stock — an out-of-stock item can’t be listed.
  • Don’t list more than is actually available: eBay removes the listing once the stock runs out.

Step 4

Confirm the images

The Images & Videos tab shows the pictures that will appear on your eBay listing. Selected pictures have an orange check in the corner.

  1. Selected pictures — tick or untick to control which images get published. Keep the ones that show the product best.
  2. Cover Image — the first/main picture buyers see in search results; it’s marked “Cover Image”.
⚠ Image tips
  • eBay prefers a clean main image (ideally on a white background); a poor-quality or non-compliant main image can be removed by eBay after publishing.
  • You are responsible for making sure the pictures don’t break any copyright rules.

Step 5

Review the description and submit

The Description tab holds the text buyers read. Review it, then publish the listing.

  1. Description — the product description shown on your listing. It’s pre-filled from the product; edit the text and formatting here if you want to.
  2. List It Now — click to publish the item to your eBay store. A “Please wait…” message appears while it’s sent to eBay (this can take a few minutes). Cancel closes the editor without listing.
⚠ When you press “List It Now”
  • The listing is blocked if any required field is missing — store, title, a valid price, in-stock quantity, or a shipping method.
  • If the item was already listed to this store, you’ll be told it already exists — see E1.
  • If your store authorization has expired, you’ll be asked to re-authorize before it can publish — see E2.

Step 6

Listed successfully

When eBay accepts the listing, you’ll see a Listed Successfully confirmation.

  1. “The product has been listed to your store successfully.” — the item is now live on your eBay store.
  2. View it in store — opens the live listing so you can check how it looks to buyers. You can manage or delete it later from your Listing Records / Listed products.

⚠ Exceptions

E1 This item has already been listed

What happens

A product can be listed to the same eBay store only once. If you try to list it again, CJ stops you with: “This item has already been listed. To list it again, please go to your Listing Records and delete it. Please note that deleting the listing will also delete the original listing.”

What to do

If the existing listing is fine, no action is needed — click Close. If you really want to re-list, click View Listing History, delete the old listing first (remember this also removes the original eBay listing), then list the product again.

E2 Store not authorized / authorization expired

What happens

If the eBay store isn’t authorized, or its authorization has expired, listing is blocked and you’re prompted to re-authorize the store (choosing the “Auth Merchant” option) before you can continue.

What to do

Re-authorize the store using Authorize Now (or from your store management page), then come back and list the product again.

No screenshot: the test store was already authorized, so this prompt did not appear during capture.

B1 Connect to an existing eBay listing

What it is

Instead of creating a brand-new listing, Connect links this CJ product to an item that already exists on your eBay store, so CJ can fulfil its orders. Use it when the product is already listed on eBay by you and you only want CJ to handle sourcing and shipping.

How to use it

On the product detail page, click Connect (next to “List”) and follow the prompts to match it to your existing eBay listing.
